Explore Gloucester, Manchester By The Sea, and Rockport; or the antique stores in the quaint town of Essex. This picturesque area which spans the coastline was founded by the Pilgrims in 1623 and was the fourth colonizing effort in New England. The Pilgrims who named it after England’s Queen Anne was first mapped by the explorer John Smith. Today, it is home to fishermen and artists, merchants and writers.
You can walk from Long Beach and pass a large rocky outcropping onto Cape Hedge Beach. Both beaches are within walking distance from the house (10 minutes). Convenient to grocery stores, restaurants, a cinema, theater, the Shalin Liu Performance Center, golf courses, and a nearby hospital. Take a forty-five minute trip by train to Boston or just relax with a view of the Atlantic Ocean!
